JOB DESCRIPTION: PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
REPORTING TO: SHIFT MANAGER
TERMS: VARYING HOURS AVAILABLE DEPENDING ON CONTRACT – MONDAY TO FRIDAY.
SALARY: £10.50 PER HOUR. IMMEDIATE START AVAILABLE
LOCATION: THE BAKERY, DARMOUTH, DEVON, TQ6 9LA
THE ROLE:
As a Production Assistant you will work alongside other Production Assistants in preparing, producing, and packing goods as per daily production plans in a timely, efficient, and safe way. The following outlines general and role specific responsibilities, all Production Assistants are required to work in any area of the business following training. You will be expected to adhere to all company policies and expectations, notably ensuring products are produced safely and to the highest quality. As a Production Assistant, you will also be encouraged to drive efficiencies and identify area of improvement within the business to ensure Clive’s is the best it can be.
Responsibilities (GENERAL):
- To perform work in all department areas – kitchen, bakery, and despatch.
- Undertake training (as identified by your line manager or the business).
- Maintain high standards of health and safety, hygiene, quality, and food safety.
- Be aware and comply with all fire safety procedures, including maintaining clear fire exits and escape routes.
- Have a clear understanding of, and adhere to, all CCPs.
- Maintain accurate records for traceability.
- Monitor chiller and freezer temperatures, and report non-conformances to team leaders or managers.
- Keep work areas clean and free from obstacles.
- Washing equipment, utensils, and other items to ensure food safety standards are complied with.
- Cleaning as per documented schedules.
- Assist with on-site laundry services.
- Conduct accurate weekly, month-end, and year-end stock takes of all materials and work in progress, highlighting any stock shortages, anomalies, or concerns for misappropriation to the purchasing assistant in a timely manner.
- Perform any tasks, as instructed by management, to support the wider business.

Full training will be provided, but please do let us know if you already hold Food Hygiene Certificates.
